ST. LOUIS (September 3, 2002) - Paradowski Graphic Design, a leading St. Louis-based graphic design firm, has promoted Steve Cox to the position of Creative Director. Cox has been with Paradowski Graphic Design since 1989.
In this position, Cox will oversee the design and production of the company's printed and electronic creative product, while mentoring designers to most effectively solve clients' communication issues. In addition, he will monitor the internal systems to optimize productivity and efficiency. He will also take an active role in strategy meetings with clients.
"This appointment recognizes the impact Steve has had on this company over the years," explains Alex Paradowski, principal of Paradowski Graphic Design. "Steve knows this company inside and out and his contributions are infinite."
Cox says that in his 13 years with the company he has seen the company grow in many ways and has never run out of challenges.
"I have witnessed the evolution of a really positive working environment, and feel I have had the privilege of working with the best designers and account staff in the region. The principals have mentored me to become a better designer, project manager and team leader," Cox explains.
Cox believes the creation of effective visual communications takes many people, working together toward a common goal. "Great design is not a product of one but a process of many," Cox says.
According to Cox, his greatest accomplishment has been the creation of Paradowski's internal database, which he began implementing in 1999 to eliminate redundancies and streamline efficiency.
Cox is a member of the Board of Directors for the YMCA and received the YMCA's 'Volunteer of the Year' recognition in 2001. He has volunteered his time for the Grand Center Artist Market and various YMCA promotions, and he is involved with growing and marketing his wife's jewelry business-EarBobs. In addition, he has reviewed student portfolios and has assisted with the instruction of design classes at the University of Missouri - St. Louis.
Cox graduated from SIU Carbondale with a bachelor's degree in applied science. While in school he had a daily cartoon panel called "It's a Rough Life" that received distinctions from The Chicago Tribune.
