Paradowski Uses Creative Activism to Give a Big “Thank You” to MoDOT during Highway 40/64 Celebration

ST. LOUIS (Dec 6, 2009) On Sunday, Paradowski Creative displayed a seven by eight-foot wide Thank You card designed for MoDOT's pre-opening celebration of Highway 40/64.  The card was the brainchild of Paul E. Jost, Paradowski Associate Creative Director.  It was created to recognize MoDOT and the I-64 Project Team for their hard work and dedication to reopening Highway 40/64 ahead of schedule and under budget.

"Having spent the last two years working around the various closures, I was impressed by how quickly the project was finished and how minimal the inconvenience was. Being a frequent user of the interstate and a long-time ‘Dogtown' resident," explained Paul E., "I saw firsthand the amount of hard work it took to complete this project. It seemed to me that the hard, sometimes dangerous work should not go unnoticed by the motorists who will benefit from the new highway. I was thrilled at the enthusiasm of those who were eager to sign the card."

With illustrations created by Paradowski's Christian Fricke, the Thank You card stood over seven feet tall and, when fully opened, over eight feet wide.  The card was on display and available for signatures and hand-written notes from anyone wanting to show their appreciation.  Over 1,200 signatures and messages of gratitude were collected, including that of St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon and the St. Louis Cardinals' very own Fred Bird.

The Thank You card was given to Linda Wilson, I-64 Community Relations Manager, at the conclusion of the pre-opening ceremony and will be displayed in the lobby of the MoDOT offices.
